Dave and Randi took us to Deep Creek Lake in Maryland. The lake is shaped kinda shaped like a dragon, there is a Discovery Centre set up that is worth a visit for sure. Not that you can see the dragon shape when standing in any given position on the lake shore, so I captured this picture of the lake from Streets and tips. Man I love having that program. The lake of course spreads out in the valleys in the hills/mountains. The other neat thing is the climate changed as we travelled up the hills/mountains to the lake. The temp dropped 10 degrees and the wind never stops blowing. As Dave says, the wind only stops to take a breath so it can blow harder!
Very well set up, information on the lake, surrounding area, some mounted animals, reptiles, fish and birds native to the area. There are walking trails, we did not take the time to walk them and besides I couldn't believe they wanted a fee to walk on the trails! We are glad we visited the area though, no charge to visit the Discovery Centre. I wish we had taken more pics inside the Discovery Centre!
The Queen posing at the Discovery Centre. The centre had mounts of bear, an absolutely gorgeours turkey in strut, a possum, otter, Blue Heron, snakes, live snakes and fish and much more!
Some photos of the Discovery Centre.
After visiting this Centre, Randi and Dave treated us to dinner at one of their favourite restaurants, yeah we are being treated like Royalty.
Dave at his best!
Here is a pic of a # 32, too big for the Queen to swing, so Woody is not in peril!
