Second Visit to Tombstone

After completing our usual morning routine and watching some November 11th day services via TV we decide to return to Tombstone for more sightseeing.

This is the courthouse, a historical site and very interesting history portrayed regarding Tombstone, a beautiful preserved building inside and out.

A beautiful staircase, which Woody and I love to see as Woody has designed and built many.

The courthouse housed the jail which has a portion of a jail preserved inside as well as the exercise yard and this gallows. The gallows has been rebuilt as it was destroyed by one the fires in Tombstone in the 1880's.

We have a passion for doors as Woody has designed and manufactured many in his life as a cabinetmaker and carpenter in his working days. These doors are wonderful sorry the picture just not does them justice.

The Tombstone Epitaph was founded in 1880 and still publishes 2 issues a month.

One of the characters from the show we had seen on our previous visit, we met while wandering and had a chat with he, all the actors in these re-enactments volunteer their time, this fellow is actually a local rancher.

Just a neat old car parked on the street.

Just loved walking down the board walks.

They have a couple of stage coaches that will tour you around, for a price of course.

We will return another day and do more investigating of this interesting town. We spent two and half hours in the Courthouse reading a viewing, glad we are close by as we can take our time and soak in the atmosphere and history.

We are slowing becoming accustom to the short twilight here, the sun goes down and shortly thereafter it is dark, but we do have almost 11 hours of daylight though which is nice. The climate is dry, which we knew, expected and like, the one thing we did not know before arriving is even if it gets quite chilly at night (35-40F), it warms up very quickly after sunrise, by 8:30 AM it can be 65-70F, we love it!
